$680.00
This book contains a work by Brett Harte and a work by Mark Twain in one volume. Contemporary three-quarter leather with nice spine labels, marbled boards, and speckled page edges
The brett Harte work is The Luck of Roaring Camp and Other Sketches. London: John Camden Hotten, Piccadilly. <No date, 1870>. BAL 7417. This would seem to be the first UK edition of this title, though BAL 7445 with the same basic description, except <No date, 1872> makes it difficult, perhaps impossible to distinguish. It seems liley this is 1870 because it is bound with an 1870 copy of Jumping Frog.
The Mark Twain work is The Celebrated Jumping Frog and Other Sketches. London: George Routledge And Sons, The Broadway, Ludgate. 1870. BAL 3319. The first book appearance of Cannibalism in the Cars..
Reprint except for Cannibalism in the Cars which appears for the first time in book form. This book is listed as BAL 3319 which is stated to be “Not found. Entry from contemporary notices.” See also BAL 3338.
Very good condition. Nicely bound. Clean text.
