Clara Clemens Gabrilowitsch and Albert Bigelow Paine Letters

On two physical pieces of paper, there are actually three letters with three correspondents. Frederic J. Haskin wrote to Clara Clemens, Mrs. Ossip Gabrilowitsch, and inquired about the height of her father, Mark Twain. Haskin was a well know news correspondent and author. Mrs. Gabrilowitsch responded to Haskin on Detroit Symphony Orchestra letterhead informing him that she had referred the matter to Albert Bigelow Paine. She apparently had sent Haskin’s original letter to Paine, as Paine responded to Haskin on the bottom portion of that letter. The original letter from Haskin is dated 12-15-1931.
